Real Madrid has taken advantage of the summer transfer window, which opened on June 1 and runs until next Tuesday with FIFA’s approval, to strengthen its squad ahead of the Club World Cup. During this period, the club secured the signings of Dean Huijsen and Trent Alexander-Arnold, and it hopes to soon announce the arrival of Álvaro Carreras. However, after successfully snatching Argentine talent Franco Mastantuono from Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid now appears to be planning another strategic move that could further weaken the French side.

Meanwhile, the Carreras deal continues to face hurdles due to resistance from Benfica, although sources within Real Madrid insist the transfer will be completed shortly. At the same time, club president Florentino Pérez has renewed his interest in Mastantuono. The deal is expected to run until 2031, although the final transfer fee with River Plate has yet to be finalized. This signing is considered a major setback for PSG, who had been closely monitoring the Argentine star as part of their plans for the upcoming season.

In Italy, reports suggest that Real Madrid is also keeping a close eye on the future of Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who could leave the Parc des Princes. The Italian international has attracted interest from both Inter Milan and Juventus. Inter are looking for a replacement for 36-year-old Yann Sommer, who may soon retire, while Juventus are considering Donnarumma as an option if Michele Di Gregorio departs—despite the club’s ongoing financial struggles.

Donnarumma, who recently helped PSG win the Champions League by defeating Inter Milan in the final, remains under contract until 2026. However, his renewal is still uncertain. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Real Madrid is considering him as a future option, while Bayern Munich is also reportedly interested, particularly given that Manuel Neuer is now 39 years old.

Regarding goalkeepers already at the club, Real Madrid is preparing to extend Thibaut Courtois’ contract, which currently runs until 2026. The situation, however, is different for Andriy Lunin. After a standout campaign in Courtois’ absence, Lunin renewed his deal last summer through 2030. But his limited appearances this season have led him to consider a potential move. His agent, Jorge Mendes—well-versed in such negotiations—may offer his services to several European clubs. The club is reportedly open to selling him for around €25 million, should a suitable offer arrive.
