Kylian Mbappé is aiming for a more successful second season with Real Madrid, despite an outstanding individual debut campaign that saw him win the Golden Boot. However, the team’s failure to secure major trophies last season has prompted the French star to act swiftly, particularly with Xabi Alonso now in charge of the first team.
According to reports from the Spanish newspaper Don Balón, Mbappé held a two-hour meeting with the new manager, during which he offered a number of technical observations and urged Alonso to implement significant changes to the squad. The striker emphasized the need for a shift in the team’s work approach, directing pointed criticism at the former coaching staff, led by Carlo Ancelotti, whose methods he reportedly found unsatisfactory.
Mbappé also called for a reassessment of the squad, stressing the need to part ways with certain players he believes do not meet the club’s elite standards or fail to add real value. He specifically mentioned Rodrygo, Endrick, and David Alaba — asserting that the first two had not lived up to expectations and that their presence was negatively affecting team chemistry. He even described the environment surrounding them as “toxic.”
