A sudden twist in Real Madrid’s summer plans… a massive deal contingent on the departure of a team star!

While Real Madrid fans are closely monitoring the club’s summer transfer market moves, it appears that the club’s management is quietly reshuffling its affairs amid new developments that could change the course of one of the team’s most important players. Despite rumors surrounding imminent signings, there is considerable internal reservation regarding a major move expected in the coming weeks.

A source close to the club’s management hinted that the next step will only be decided upon if a sudden financial development occurs that redistributes the transfer budget. What was unexpected, however, is that the player in question is one of the team’s most prominent stars over the past two seasons.

According to the Spanish newspaper AS, Brazilian star Rodrygo has become the most prominent candidate to leave the Santiago Bernabéu this summer. The decision is not entirely technical but rather related to economic calculations aimed at achieving financial gains estimated between €80 and €100 million, opening the door to a major midfield deal.

According to the report, Florentino Pérez’s management has identified Manchester City midfielder Rodri as one of its strategic targets, but the matter hinges on selling Rodrygo first. With the club entering negotiations with several young players in recent weeks, financial stability has become a prerequisite for any new deal.

Rodrygo, who returned from a long injury and contributed to the team’s title-winning campaign during the second half of the season, has received offers from English clubs and Paris Saint-Germain. If his sale is completed, Real Madrid will turn its attention to Spanish midfielder Rodri, one of the most stable midfielders in Europe.

It’s worth noting that Rodri’s contract expires in the summer of 2027 and has not yet been renewed, leaving the door open for Real Madrid to attempt to sign him either this summer or in the summer of 2026 at the latest.

All indications suggest that Real Madrid’s management will not make any major new signing without first securing the departure of a major star. With Xabi Alonso needing to bolster the midfield following Modric’s departure, options are narrowing, and betting on Rodri seems logical.

Will the coming days witness the most expensive sale in Rodrygo’s career? Will Real Madrid succeed in snatching Rodri from Manchester City? The coming days alone will reveal this pivotal transformation in the Bernabéu summer.
