Informed press reports have revealed a surprising development in the contract renewal of one of Real Madrid’s most prominent stars, amid behind-the-scenes tension after negotiations reached a critical stage due to demands described as “unconventional.”
Sources close to the club confirmed that the player in question is insisting on exceptional financial benefits, exceeding what the club has traditionally offered to any star in recent years. This has sparked controversy within the Santiago Bernabéu.
According to Spanish journalist Ramón Álvarez, who reported on the platform “X,” Brazilian star Vinicius Junior is requesting a net salary estimated at €30 million per year, in addition to a renewal bonus similar to the one Kylian Mbappé received upon joining Real Madrid.
Vinicius, whose contract runs until July 2027 after being extended in 2023, has a massive €1 billion release clause, yet his long-term future at the club still appears unresolved.
The Brazilian star, who has played 322 matches for Real Madrid—scoring 106 goals and providing 83 assists—has won 14 titles. However, he is now seeking “financial recognition” that reflects his status, on par with his prospective attacking partner.
