Barcelona aims to win all trophies this season and is considering strategic steps to strengthen the team and achieve the ideal balance between attack and defense. As the club strives to return to the path of major victories, Barcelona president Joan Laporta and head of football Deco continue working to reinforce the squad with world-class players capable of fulfilling the club’s ambitions in top competitions.

Legendary Lionel Messi never misses an opportunity to support his former team, Barcelona. Despite currently playing in MLS with Inter Miami, Messi remains in constant contact with Laporta and Deco. As Barcelona looks to bolster its squad, Messi does not hesitate to offer advice and insight regarding players who could be ideal additions to the Catalan club.

One of the most prominent players Messi has recommended is Manchester City striker Julián Álvarez, who is considered a potential replacement for Robert Lewandowski should he leave at the end of the season. Messi’s close relationship with Álvarez, both at the national team level and through shared club interests, has made the young striker one of the players Messi strongly urges Barcelona to sign.

But Messi didn’t stop at just one forward. He also recommended Manchester United defender Lisandro Martínez. Messi is convinced the Argentine can provide world-class defensive reinforcement at a time when Barcelona is facing a defensive crisis following the departure of Iñigo Martínez to Saudi club Al-Nassr. This move has placed additional pressure on coach Hans-Dieter Flick, who remains unconvinced by either Christensen or Araújo in the heart of defense.

Despite Messi’s recommendations, Barcelona’s management still considers Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni the top priority to strengthen the backline, as he is viewed as the best available option. However, if the deal proves financially unfeasible, Laporta and Deco may turn to Lisandro Martínez instead, who is a costlier option but one who could still significantly address the team’s defensive needs.

In this context, Barcelona continues its search for both offensive and defensive reinforcements in pursuit of long-awaited titles. Messi, for his part, remains an active voice in guiding the club toward decisions that could truly make a difference and lead the team back to European glory.
