Real Madrid is experiencing a state of extreme tension as the official announcement of Xabi Alonso’s dismissal is expected on Thursday, one day after the Manchester City match. A further defeat, especially a heavy one, could definitively seal the manager’s fate, given the team’s inconsistent performances in recent weeks, with Real Madrid managing only one win in their last seven matches.
Press reports have revealed the leading candidates to take over the team: Zinedine Zidane and Jürgen Klopp. Both possess extensive experience at the highest level and are considered the most compelling options for Florentino Pérez.
Klopp, currently without a club, could join immediately if an agreement is reached, following initial contact made by Real Madrid’s management, as reported by Kicker. Klopp’s conditions for accepting the offer include complete freedom to manage the team’s planning, the sale of several current players, and the signing of new players during January, with a focus on strengthening the center-back position to compensate for Éder Militão’s absence and David Alaba’s ongoing issues.
Among the potential signings are Nico Schlotterbeck and Ibrahima Konaté, who will become free agents in June, in addition to attacking options such as Kenan Yıldız and Antoine Simeone to bolster the right flank.
Klopp, in agreement with Xabi Alonso, also believes the team needs a strong playmaker, with Angelo Stieler, Vitinha, and Enzo Fernández among the available options, despite the high cost of some of them.
Real Madrid’s management is carefully considering these options in an attempt to restore stability to the club before the second half of the season, amidst significant fan pressure and high expectations from the players themselves.
