FC Barcelona has officially announced that their young player, Roger Martínez, who plays for Barcelona B, has suffered a serious knee injury, effectively ending his season with the reserve team.

The Catalan club explained that Martínez underwent successful surgery after tearing the lateral meniscus in his right knee, an injury that will keep him sidelined for an estimated five to six months.

This injury comes at a challenging time for Martínez, who had been hoping to deliver standout performances that could open the door to joining the first team in the near future.

Barcelona concluded their statement by offering the player their full support and wishing him a speedy recovery and a strong return to the pitch next season.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are preparing for an important clash against Real Mallorca in the 23rd round of La Liga. The Catalan side currently leads the standings with 55 points, just one point ahead of second-placed Real Madrid, in a match expected to showcase fierce competition among the top teams in the Spanish League.
