Real Madrid snatches a major deal from Barcelona… a surprising move shakes the Royal Academy!

Real Madrid continued their efforts to bolster their academy despite the closure of the winter transfer window last week, having secured the loan of André Filipe to Olympique Lyonnais last December and closely monitored his performances in France.

Recent reports confirm that the club has finalized another signing for their Valdebebas training center, reaching an official agreement with CF Damm for the talented youngster Clifford Nana.

Nana: The Barcelona prodigy who caught Europe’s eye

Nana, who trained at La Masia until 2023, is a gifted winger with exceptional dribbling skills and a keen eye for goal. He attracted the attention of several clubs at just 16 years old. Despite his impressive performances with Barcelona, he left the Catalan academy less than three years ago to join his current club, before Real Madrid seized the opportunity to sign him.

Journalist Mateo Moretto confirmed via his X account (formerly Twitter):

“Clifford Nana will sign for Real Madrid in the coming days. The deal is done.”

The young player has scored seven goals this season and sixteen last season and is expected to join Castilla to capitalize on his high value and great potential in the long term.

Youth at the Heart of Real Madrid’s Strategy

Real Madrid has always been keen to attract promising talents from all its academies, even at a young age, to ensure the future strength of the first team. A prime example is Víctor Muñoz, who started at Damm and made his first-team debut in El Clásico, before Real Madrid retained 50% of his rights.

Similarly, the club is committed to developing other academy players like Nico Paz, Jacobo Ramón, and Chema Andrés, with the possibility of integrating some of them into the first team according to coach Álvaro Arbeloa’s needs, particularly in defense and midfield.

Clifford Nana is now the latest talent to join the Valdebebas academy. With his exceptional skill and quick learning ability, he has all the makings of becoming one of the future stars at the Bernabéu. Only time will tell whether he will succeed in meeting expectations and becoming a world-class player.
