Newspaper reports have revealed a clear stance from English star Jude Bellingham regarding the coach he would like to see at the helm of Real Madrid in the coming period.
Despite wishing young coach Álvaro Arbeloa well, Bellingham prefers the position to be taken over by one of the managers he personally admires most: the Portuguese José Mourinho.
A Long-Standing Admiration
Following Real Madrid’s victory in the 2014 Champions League, Bellingham made a point of approaching Mourinho, who was analyzing the match on British television, and asked for a commemorative photo with him, saying, “I’ve been a fan of yours for years.” This gesture reflected the high regard the English star holds for the Portuguese coach.
Will Mourinho Return to the Santiago Bernabéu?
After the defeat against Benfica in the Champions League group stage, some voices within the club have revived the possibility of bringing Mourinho back, especially after his recent successes against Europe’s elite and his proven ability to manage big matches.
For Bellingham, Mourinho’s return could be the perfect move, given his belief in the manager’s ideas and leadership qualities. However, the player is well aware that the Portuguese coach makes no exceptions for any star player on the pitch, demanding complete discipline and tactical commitment from everyone, which could potentially reset the team’s rhythm in the coming seasons.
