Enzo Fernandez has announced his departure from Chelsea, confirming that he no longer wishes to remain with a club plagued by instability and rarely achieving the desired results. Last season, the team won the fifth-tier league title and the Club World Cup after a resounding victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the final, but expectations this season have fallen short, with an early exit from continental competition and a sixth-place finish in the Premier League.
The club’s fans are deeply disappointed, as is the player himself, who has expressed his dissatisfaction with owner Todd Pohlé’s decisions and remains baffled by the sacking of former manager Enzo Maresca, especially after his successor, Liam Rosenior, failed to improve results.
The player’s agent has already begun exploring new destinations, and Fernandez has been linked with clubs such as Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, and Barcelona. According to The Mirror, Barcelona has already submitted an offer to Chelsea for the player, willing to negotiate a lower price if the offer includes another player acceptable to Pohlé.
Meanwhile, Chelsea remain interested in signing Barcelona’s Pablo Baez, “Gavi,” whom the club is confident will regain his form after injuries. It is said that including him in the deal could lower Enzo’s price to €70 million. The decision now rests with Joan Laporta and Deco, who are considering the possibility of strengthening their midfield with a world-class player.
