Real Madrid Crowned Teresa Herrera Trophy Champions.. Diaz Decides It and Lunin Saves Los Blancos at the End! 🔥

Real Madrid continued their preparations for the new season in perfect fashion, winning the Teresa Herrera Trophy after defeating hosts Deportivo La Coruna 1-0 in Wednesday evening’s match at the Riazor Stadium.

The match carried particular importance for the Spanish giants, not only because of the battle for the trophy, but also because it was part of Real Madrid’s preparations for the new season and featured several players the coaching staff are assessing ahead of the official campaign.

The only goal of the match came in the 45+1st minute through Brahim Diaz. The attack began with a corner for Deportivo, after which the ball reached Andriy Lunin, who played it to Silva. He then surged toward the penalty area before the ball reached Diaz, who fired it into the net.

Real Madrid tried to extend their lead in the second half, and Carlos Espeye managed to score a second goal in the 58th minute, but the referee ruled it out for offside against the young striker, who had come on as a substitute at the start of the second half.

Lunin Steals the Spotlight and Gives Real Madrid the Trophy

The end of the match was far from easy for Real Madrid, as Deportivo La Coruna pushed for an equalizer. However, Andriy Lunin appeared at the crucial moment and produced a decisive save in the closing minutes to preserve his team’s lead until the final whistle.

Diaz decided it.. Lunin saved it.. and Real Madrid left Riazor with another trophy before the start of the season!

With this victory, Real Madrid claimed the Teresa Herrera Trophy for the tenth time in their history, having previously won the competition in 1949, 1953, 1966, 1976, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1994 and 2013. This was also the club’s first appearance in the tournament since 2013.

Although the tournament is a friendly competition, the victory gives Real Madrid an important confidence boost ahead of the new season, particularly as the team continues working toward reaching peak condition before the official matches begin.

Brahim Diaz also made his mark on the match with the decisive goal, while Lunin produced one of the game’s most important moments when he denied Deportivo’s late attempt to equalize.

Real Madrid therefore ended their match against Deportivo La Coruna with another trophy, in a night that combined attacking efficiency with crucial saves at decisive moments, before moving into the next stage of preparations for the upcoming season.
