At the same time, he stressed that everything evolves and changes, and that nothing lasts forever in football or in life.
The Barcelona president also addressed the idea of Messi returning, explaining that it sounds very romantic and beautiful, but given the football the team currently plays, the situation is “extremely complicated” and he considers it difficult.
Laporta also explained that Messi is a winner who always wants to play and participate, rather than simply returning to make a 15-minute appearance. This makes the possibility of his return more closely connected to what he could offer the team at its current stage.
Despite describing the situation as difficult, Laporta confirmed that Barcelona would study the matter, adding that he would prefer to meet Messi personally rather than contact him by phone.
The Barcelona president also spoke about Messi’s father, explaining that he is no longer with them and that the club had previously spoken with him regarding a tribute.
Laporta emphasized that Messi will always remain connected to Barcelona because the two sides share a very beautiful story. However, he stressed that the club is now focused on the present, with players coming through La Masia as well as others arriving from elsewhere and performing at the required level.
