Lamine Yamal sends a cheeky message to a Galatasaray player after the 4-1.. and his reply surprised everyone

Lamine Yamal did not just answer on the pitch after starring in Barcelona’s 4-1 win at Galatasaray. He also posted a cheeky message on Instagram aimed at a player from the Turkish side who had once played him down.

The short message set social media alight, Barcelona stars piled into the comments, and then the player in question replied in a way nobody expected.

Lamine posted a photo of himself with the Player of the Match award and wrote “He know me now?” alongside a ghost emoji, as reported by Mundo Deportivo.

The message was a reply to old comments from Galatasaray’s Gabonese midfielder Mario Lemina, who was asked in August 2025 about comparisons between Lamine Yamal and his team-mate Leroy Sane and answered: “Who is Lamine Yamal? I don’t know him. I know Sane.” Those words went viral again before the game.

Lamine was outstanding in Istanbul, providing two assists and taking part in several decisive moves on his way to the Player of the Match award.

His team-mates quickly joined in. Raphinha wrote: “I think he knows you now”, Fermin Lopez commented “I think he knows you”, Anthony Gordon simply wrote “Incredible”, and Gavi replied with a GIF of Lamine dancing.

The story had a friendly ending, though. Lemina responded on Instagram with a photo of Lamine with his children and wrote: “Of course I know you, my little one is crazy about you”, before congratulating the Barcelona star: “Congratulations, Lamine Yamal”.
