Flick makes an admission about Barcelona’s number one star before Betis.. and reveals another player’s tough situation

Hansi Flick spoke openly in his press conference before the Real Betis game about Barcelona’s number one star, admitting something that has worried fans since the start of the season.

But the German coach did not stop there. He also talked about the tough situation of another player in the squad, in words that say a lot about his future.

On Lamine Yamal, who is playing almost every minute, Flick said: “It’s not an easy question because he is a very special player and I know we have to manage his minutes. But the most important thing for him is to enjoy playing football. He is doing that now and I don’t want to interrupt that,” according to Mundo Deportivo.

In contrast to Lamine, his friend Alejandro Balde is going through a difficult spell and is barely playing. Flick said: “At the moment the situation is not easy for him, but he is training, which is the first thing he has to do, and he trains very well.”

The German added: “In that position we have Xavi Espart and Joao Cancelo, two top players who are performing at a great level. That’s what I can say. Of course it’s not perfect for Balde, but he does his job professionally and that’s what I want. When you are in that situation you have to show you are ready if you are needed, and he does that.”

Barcelona face Real Betis on Saturday before a decisive week against PSG in the Champions League and Real Madrid in the Clasico on October 25.
