A blow for Real Madrid before the Clasico.. an official ruling rejects every club argument over its star
Real Madrid’s efforts ended in another blow just days before the Clasico, after an official ruling on one of the team’s biggest stars rejected every argument the club put forward.
The decision keeps Real without their star for the biggest game of the season so far, but the club has not given up and is preparing one last move.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the Appeals Committee of the Spanish Football Federation has upheld Vinicius Junior’s four-match ban, confirming the punishment handed down by the Disciplinary Committee last Wednesday.
The ban is made up of two games for the straight red card for pulling Villarreal’s Saliba by the hair, and two more for his protests at the referee.
Real Madrid appealed and asked for the punishment to be reduced, but the committee rejected all of the club’s arguments. Vinicius will therefore miss the games against Sevilla, Barcelona in the Clasico, Racing and Valencia, and would return in LaLiga on November 21-22 against Celta Vigo.
Real Madrid have not given up yet and plan to take the case to the Administrative Court of Sport (TAD) in a last attempt to reduce the Brazilian’s suspension.
