Barcelona President Joan Laporta continues to search for strong support options for the Catalan team, especially with the team’s poor level this season, which has led to voices calling for a withdrawal of confidence from the club president.
In light of this, the Spanish newspaper “Sport” revealed that Barcelona is considering the idea of signing the Portuguese Rafael Leao, the star of the Italian team Milan.
Although Barcelona is suffering from financial crises, it will move to sign a big star next summer to strengthen the team’s ranks and correct the course after the team’s negative season.
The newspaper explained that Barcelona is trying to sell the club’s studios, which have an income of 200 million euros, which will open the door to registering players and entering into deals.
The newspaper pointed out that Rafael Leao is one of the names that Barcelona is seeking to sign, along with Leroy Sane, who has been linked to the Catalan club during the past two seasons.
Leao has a contract with Milan until 2028, with a release clause of 150 million euros.
In the same context, journalist Jonathan Bamba from the Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo announced: “It is possible that Frenkie de Jong will enter into Rafael Leao’s deal with AC Milan in an exceptional event next summer.”
He added: A hot summer awaits us in terms of deals, and on the other hand, President Laporta wants to do something that will restore public confidence in the administration.
