The summer Mercato in Europe seems to have started too early, as press reports revealed that FC Barcelona entered into a conflict with its traditional rival, Real Madrid, to snatch the latter’s anticipated deal.
Real Madrid, headed by Florentino Pérez, is seeking to strengthen the ranks of the royal team with the strongest deals during the upcoming summer transfer period.
On the other hand, Barca, headed by Joan Laporta, is planning to sign prominent stars in the upcoming summer Mercato in order to strengthen the team, especially with Barca’s poor performance this season.
Real Madrid is planning to sign a left-back, especially after the decline in Frenchman Ferland Mendy’s performance in recent times.
Real Madrid contacted Canadian player Alphonso Davies, the Bavarian star, several times, in order to obtain his services in the summer.
But according to what was revealed by several Spanish press reports, Deco, Barcelona’s sporting director, was with Davies’ representatives who came to Madrid recently.
Reports confirmed that Alfonso’s agent was with Royal Club officials, and the next day he met with Deco to talk about the idea of the Canadian moving to Barça.
Barcelona wants to sell its absent full-back due to a vascular injury and use the player’s money to finance the deal for the flying full-back and Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies.
