Spanish press reports reported that Barcelona President Joan Laporta moved to sign a contract with Manchester City in response to news of Real Madrid’s contract with Frenchman Kylian Mbappe.
Catalan journalist Gerard Romero stated that Barcelona held a meeting with Haaland’s agents and confirmed that Haaland’s future is considered a dream for club president Laporta, and Haaland was one of the issues discussed in the meeting.
The journalist added that player agent Rafaela Pimienta represents a number of players other than Haaland, such as De Ligt, and a number of players were talked about, but Haaland was the main topic, and he pointed out that the deal is difficult, but not impossible.
He stressed: “It cannot be denied that the meeting took place according to the image, but if Deco claims that Haaland was not mentioned during the meeting, then he is lying.
Based on the same reporter, it was decided to hold a meeting with Haaland’s family to discuss his move to Barcelona.
It was also mentioned during the meeting the possibility of the departure of players from the Catalan team to facilitate the Haaland transfer deal, and at the head of these players are the Brazilian star Rafinha and the French international Joel Kounde, which would enhance the chances of Haaland moving to Barcelona.
On the other hand, journalist Oriol Domenech confirmed that Haaland does not have a contract break clause next summer, but in the summer after that, his contract break will amount to 175 million euros for clubs outside the English Premier League.
