Officials of the Spanish club Real Madrid, headed by Florentino Perez, are seeking to sign a contract with the German League star during the upcoming summer transfer period of 2024, to strengthen the ranks of the Merengue team next season.
After Real Madrid came close to strengthening its ranks with the number one star in the world, Mbappe, and securing the future of the attack for years to come, it was the turn to strengthen the most important position in the royal team, which is the right-back position.
In light of this, the Spanish newspaper “Marca” revealed that Real Madrid’s management wants to sign Jeremy Verbong, the right-back of Bayer Leverkusen, during the upcoming summer transfer period of 2024.
The newspaper added that Perez will move towards the deal during the summer Mercato, as it will cost the Merengue team’s coffers about 40 million euros.
It is worth noting that Dutch player Jeremy Verbong is performing well with Bayern Leverkusen under the leadership of Xavi Alonso throughout the 2023-2024 season.
Real Madrid sees the player as the perfect replacement for the Royal Team star, Dani Carvajal, who has advanced in age and is unable to play continuously throughout the season.
