Press reports revealed that Spanish club Barcelona is aiming to sign a strong deal during the upcoming summer transfer period, amid interest from many clubs.
The Spanish club Barcelona wants to sign Mats Weaver, the 24-year-old Dutchman who is performing at an impressive level with Feyenoord this season.
Weaver is also one of Atletico Madrid’s most important goals, as Argentine coach Diego Simeone is fond of his playing style and believes that Barcelona should compete for his inclusion.
According to the Spanish newspaper “Sport”, Weaver is the most prominent candidate to succeed Sergio Busquets in this position, but the process will not be completed for less than 25 million euros, and this is what may obstruct the deal or direct it outside Barcelona.
The newspaper added that Barcelona believes that this value is higher than what it allocated to the player as a fulcrum in front of the defenders, and therefore it will have to reduce the amount slightly in the midst of the economic crisis hitting the Catalan club.
