Atletico Madrid is planning to bargain with Barcelona next summer with the help of Portuguese star Joao Felix.
Felix is playing this season with Barcelona on loan, coming from Atletico Madrid.
According to the Spanish newspaper “Sport”, Atletico is planning to exploit Barcelona’s desire to buy Felix’s contract, and is requesting a swap deal that includes Polish striker Robert Lewandowski.
Atletico will work to include Lewandowski in exchange for reducing the sale price of Felix, or even contract with the Polish star in exchange for giving up the Portuguese player for free to Barca.
Atletico wants to take advantage of the fact that many Barcelona officials believe that Leyva will not be useful to the club if he continues for another season, because his salary will rise and he will become one of the highest in the team next season.
Some Barca officials also believe that Leyva is not having a good season, and that they were expecting more brilliance from him to help the Catalan team, so if they receive a good offer, they will consider his departure.
