Real Madrid needs to be careful in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals against Manchester City.
Real City will host the Santiago Bernabeu at its home stadium on April 9 and 10, with the return match taking place in Manchester at the Etihad Stadium a week later.
Real Madrid will be at risk of losing 4 prominent players in its squad if any of them receive a warning in the first match that will be held at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
The Spanish newspaper “Marca” indicated: Aurelien Chouamini, Eduardo Camavinga, Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham will play the first leg, and each of them has a yellow card.
The absence of any player from this quartet represents a strong blow to coach Carlo Ancelotti, especially Bellingham and Vinicius, after the former quickly presented his credentials upon joining from Borussia Dortmund at the beginning of the current season, and after the latter regained his scoring sense and adapted to the new tasks required of him.
The two players scored 26 of Real Madrid’s 60 goals in La Liga this season, meaning more than 40% of the team’s goals in the local competition.
The newspaper concluded that Ancelotti asked the quartet to calm down and not object to the arbitration so that they would not be warned and thus miss the fateful return match at the Etihad Stadium.
