Paris Saint-Germain is seeking to take advantage of Barcelona’s difficult financial circumstances by signing two of its players during the upcoming summer transfer period.
Saint-Germain will play against its counterpart, Barcelona, next Wednesday, at the Parc des Princes Stadium, in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.
According to the Spanish Radio Catalunya, representatives of Paris Saint-Germain inquired from Barcelona officials about the possibility of including defenders Jules Kounde and Hector Forte.
She added that Saint-Germain later obtained information that Barcelona was not considering selling Hector Forte, despite the presence of a weak penalty clause in his contract.
She confirmed that Barcelona intends to renew the contract of Forte (17 years old) and change the value of the penalty clause in his contract (6 million euros).
The radio concluded that Laporta does not mind selling the Frenchman, Kounde, especially with his declining level this season, and the financial crisis will force Barcelona to sell one of the duo, and the choice fell on the Frenchman, Koundé.
Xavi is upset with Paris Saint-Germain and believes that the Parisian team is making every effort just to weaken Barcelona by signing the best players from the Catalan team.
