Xavi Hernandez, the coach of Barcelona, discussed one of the deals during a meeting to determine his fate with Barcelona.
Laporta had held a crucial meeting with Xavi at the end of last week in the presence of sporting director Deco in the Sports City, but it was completed later at the home of the club president.
Ramon Salmori, the famous journalist for “Radio Catalunya”, wrote on his account on the “X” network: “Xavi discussed the deal of Manchester City star Bernardo Silva with Deco in the meeting to determine his fate yesterday, Wednesday, and there is optimism about it in Barcelona.”
The release clause in Silva’s contract is 58 million euros, but City may negotiate this number if the player informs them that he prefers to leave. Spanish reports previously revealed that Silva prefers Barcelona to Real Madrid, as he believes that there is no place for him on the royal team’s roster.
She added: “Silva is also willing to sacrifice part of his salary to help move to Barcelona next summer.”
The newspaper concluded that Xavi is committed to contracting with the player, and if his request is not met, he may change his mind again and leave Barcelona because Xavi believes that this player is the piece that Barcelona is missing at the present time.
