Press reports indicated that the Barcelona administration wants to extend the contract of its player Araujo, but the latter’s representatives are procrastinating regarding resolving this issue due to Araujo’s desire to leave, especially with the interest of the Bavarian giants, Bayern Munich and Manchester United, in obtaining the player’s services.
The newspaper “AS” explained that Barcelona is concerned about the future of Araujo, as the club believes that the player’s agent is delaying negotiations to renew his contract, not in order to reach the best agreement formula, but because he already has offers from other clubs that he is studying, while the player himself had He asked his representatives to move towards extending his contract.
Araujo spoke about his future in statements reported by the Spanish “Mundo Deportivo” network, saying: “I am very fine, I am calm. “I have a contract until 2026.”
He added: “My representative will meet with the club, but now I am focusing on the national team.”
“AS” indicated that the file to renew Ronald Araujo’s contract will extend throughout the summer, and this is something that the officials of the Catalan club will not like, and Laporta feels that the player has made his decision to leave without telling anyone and is waiting for the end of his participation in the Copa with the Uruguay national team.
Barcelona stressed that it will not let Araujo’s representatives manipulate the administration, so if they do not agree to the club’s terms, Barcelona will agree to the player’s departure for an amount of no less than 80 million euros.
It is noteworthy that Ronaldo Araujo participated in 37 matches for the “Blaugrana” shirt during the past season, during which he scored one goal and assisted two goals.
