Barcelona is going through difficult days as the Catalan team seeks to heal its wounds after a disappointing season in which the team bid farewell to all the tournaments it participated in and left empty-handed without any title.
In light of this, the Barcelona administration, led by Joan Laporta, is seeking strong reinforcements in order for the Catalan team to return to the competition as before.
In a radio interview with Catalunya Radio, the legendary star Andres Iniesta spoke about Barcelona’s current situation and wished German coach Hansi Flick success during the coming period.
When the painter Iniesta was asked about a deal that he advised Flick and the Barcelona management to sign, he answered without hesitation the German star Florian Wirtz, the German star of Bayer Leverkusen, who is performing at fantastic levels with the team this season.
Iniesta added that this player has a different profile from all Barcelona players, as he can score and is distinguished by creating goals in different ways, and he is the missing link in the current Barcelona squad.
In the same context, it seems that Florian Wirtz, the German star of Bayer Leverkusen, will be the subject of a new conflict between Barcelona and Real Madrid, the giants of Spanish football, during the coming period.
Florian Wirtz made history with Bayer Leverkusen last season under the leadership of Spanish coach Xabi Alonso, as he played a major role in winning the German League for the first time in the club’s history, in addition to the German Cup.
Wirtz scored 11 goals and provided 12 assists in the Bundesliga, and in general over the 49 matches he played in all competitions in the past season, he succeeded in scoring 18 goals and was able to make 20.
On the other hand, the Catalan newspaper “Mundo Deportivo” reported last Thursday that Wirtz is the “dream signing” for FC Barcelona sporting director Deco in 2025, if the club has greater financial strength than the current period.
The newspaper indicated that Barcelona places Wirtz as a first target if the economic situation improves, noting that the accumulation of stars in Real Madrid, especially after the inclusion of Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham, may keep him away from choosing the royal team.
