Press reports revealed that Barcelona decided to raise the value of the offer it submitted to Athletic Bilbao in order to obtain the services of its Spanish winger, Neco Williams.
Williams is currently with the Spanish national team delegation in Germany, where the El Matador is participating in the Euro 2024 competition, and the Athletic Bilbao player appeared at a more than wonderful level.
Barca had expressed its desire to sign a contract with him during the current transfer period, but the financial factor remains the key factor in completing the deal.
According to the Spanish newspaper “Sport”, the Barcelona management, headed by Joan Laporta, provided 40 million euros in two installments, in addition to Inigo Martinez, in order to sign Neco Williams.
The newspaper reported that Barca is preparing to make another offer worth 55 million euros, in addition to another 10 million euros in variables, in order to persuade Athletic Bilbao to abandon the services of its player.
Barcelona did not receive a response from the Athletic Bilbao administration regarding the first offer, but it feels that it will be rejected, so it decided to raise the value of the contract to put pressure on the Basques and complete the contract with Williams.
