German Hansi Flick, coach of the Spanish team Barcelona, decided the fate of one of the Catalan giant’s stars this summer to leave the Blaugrana, due to the vision of the new coach.
Flick wants to have players with specific characteristics in the defense line, the first of which is building attacks properly, so one of Barca’s defenders is close to leaving permanently this summer.
The Spanish newspaper “Marca” revealed that Hansi Flick has decided not to rely on the services of defender Iñigo Martinez during the coming season, and plans to dispense with him this summer.
The Spanish newspaper added that former coach Xavi Hernandez had confirmed the reasons that prompted Barca to include the player last summer, despite his average performance.
The newspaper added that Hansi Flick is not convinced by the Spanish player and believes that his stay is not beneficial to Barcelona and that it is better for him and the team for him to leave.
The newspaper indicated that the Barcelona coach places full confidence in his colleague Eric Garcia and seeks to maintain his services and not loan him to any other club, as Flick sees the advantage of Garcia over Martinez, due to his ability to play as a pivot in the midfield, and secondly, that he has the advantage of building the attack from the back.
