Spanish club Real Madrid is seeking to strengthen its defense line during the current summer transfer period, and is looking for a possible deal from the Saudi League to strengthen its ranks.
This comes after the departure of Nacho Fernandez to the Saudi club Al-Qadisiyah and the sale of Rafa Marin to the Italian club Napoli, in addition to David Alaba suffering an injury that appears to keep him out of the field for a longer period than expected.
Real Madrid’s attempts to sign Lenny Euro also failed, as the player is on the verge of officially announcing his move to Manchester United.
According to a report from El Mundo, Real Madrid has activated an alternative plan and is currently exploring the possibility of signing Aymeric Laporte. Laporte, who was a player in Manchester City, now plays for Al-Nassr Saudi Arabia, and he performed outstandingly in the European Super Cup “Euro 2024”, where he won the title with the Spanish national team.
In statements he made last June, Laporte indicated his position on leaving Al-Nasr, saying: “I do not mind listening to the offers made.”
The deal to sign Laporte may be inexpensive for Real Madrid, but the Spanish club needs Al-Nasr’s approval of the deal. In addition, Laporte must have the desire to move and leave the big money he is earning in Saudi Arabia, to be a suitable replacement for Antonio Rudiger and Eder Militao in the Real Madrid squad.
