British press reports highlighted that English Manchester City is close to signing one of the stars who won the European Championship (Euro 2024) with the Spanish national team.
According to the British Football Insider network, Manchester City is close to signing Spanish Dani Olmo, the German Leipzig star, during the summer Mercato period.
The British network confirmed that Spanish coach Pep Guardiola, the coach of Manchester City, admires the levels presented by Olmo in the tournament and wants to include him in the ranks of Man City.
The British network indicated that Manchester City intends to activate the release clause in Olmo’s contract amounting to 51 million pounds sterling.
The British network explained that the validity of the penalty clause in Olmo’s contract expires on July 20, and therefore it is expected that Manchester City will finalize the deal in his favor before this date.
The British network said that Olmo welcomes the move to join the English Premier League for Manchester City next season.
The British network continued that Olmo’s name was linked to moving to Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Liverpool, but Manchester City became the closest to finalizing the deal.
It is noteworthy that the Spanish national team won the Euro 2024 title last Sunday after defeating the England national team in the final match by two goals to one.
