Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti chose the player most likely to win the 2024 Ballon d’Or award in an interview with a podcast program.
The Italian coach seeks to lead Real Madrid to win titles again this season and repeat the scenario of last season in which he was able to lead Real Madrid to win La Liga and the Champions League.
Speaking on a podcast with Nigerian Obi Mikel, Ancelotti said: “In my opinion; Vinicius Junior will win the Ballon d’Or.
Ancelotti continued: “Carvajal also performed well. He won the Spanish League and the Champions League with Real Madrid, scored in the final match, and won the European Nations title with Spain.”
He added: “But Vinicius is a talented player, young, with a good image, who won the Spanish League and the Champions League title. He scored two goals in Munich!”
He continued: “Jude Bellingham had a wonderful season, and contributed to winning the Champions League and the league, and it was a big surprise that he was the best player in the league last season.”
Ancelotti continued, speaking about Manchester City player Rodri, saying: “He is also a great midfielder, one of the best midfielders in Europe and his level is consistent.”
According to information received from the Spanish newspaper Marca, Ancelotti’s statements angered Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham, who wanted Ancelotti to do justice to him and place him among the candidates to win the award on an equal footing with his teammate Vinicius Junior.
