Spanish press reports revealed, today, Monday, the latest developments regarding the future of the Spanish star, Nico Williams, the first-team football player for Athletic Club Bilbao, and Barcelona’s offer to include him this summer.
Since the beginning of the current summer Mercato, there has been great competition between a number of European clubs to win the services of the Athletic Bilbao winger, led by the French clubs Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
The Athletic Bilbao administration refuses to let its star leave except through the release clause in his contract, which amounts to 58 million euros, in addition to 4 million consumer price index tax.
In this context, the Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo” revealed that there are concerns controlling Nico Williams as to whether this is the right time for him to move to Barcelona or not.
The newspaper added that Flick and Laporta are in a state of constant tension due to signing this long-awaited deal, on which Flick is building a lot of hopes next season with Barcelona, given the player’s quality and exceptional skill.
The newspaper concluded that the Spanish star’s close associates asked him to stay at Athletic Bilbao for another football season, and that he move to Barcelona in 2025.
