Barcelona first team coach Hans Flick received a pleasant surprise before the start of the team’s journey in the new season in the Spanish League.
Barcelona will start its journey in La Liga on Saturday evening with a strong and anticipated match against Valencia at Mestalla Stadium.
The Catalan newspaper “Sport” reported that Barcelona midfielder Pedri’s return to participating in matches is very imminent after the player is close to gradually returning to his normal fitness, which made Flick very happy given the absence of many midfielders due to injury.
The newspaper added that Pedri participated in group training today, Thursday, and is ready to participate against Valencia, and the final decision remains with the German coach, whether to push him as a substitute or keep him in order to prepare him for the upcoming matches.
The newspaper confirmed: “It is most likely that his return will be postponed to face Athletic Bilbao in the second round so that he is fully fit.”
In the same context, the Spanish newspaper “AS” reported that Pedri recovered from his injury in record time, and will be on Barcelona’s list against Valencia.
Pedri was injured during Spain’s match against Germany in the quarter-finals of Euro 2024, after a strong intervention from former Real Madrid star Toni Kroos.
