Barcelona continues its search to strengthen its ranks in order to compete strongly for all tournaments in the new season under the leadership of German coach Hans Flick.
It is noteworthy that Barcelona has concluded the deal to sign the German Leipzig star and Spanish national team midfielder Dani Olmo, making the player the first deal for the Catalan team in the current Mercato.

In an unpleasant surprise for Barcelona, according to information received from the Spanish newspaper El Nacional, Paris Saint-Germain is ready to offer Firmin a contract with a salary 20 times higher than the salary he currently receives at Barcelona.
His current salary at Barcelona is about 250 thousand euros annually, and the French team has put on the table a salary of 5 million euros annually, and this number represents a giant economic leap for the young Barcelona player, who, despite being one of the lowest-paid players in the Barcelona dressing room, has shown performance that far exceeds his current salary.

The newspaper added: Paris Saint-Germain’s proposal is not only financial, as Luis Enrique, who knows Spanish football well and has a keen eye for young talent, sees Firmin as a potential pillar of the future of the Parisian team and will give him an absolute role from the start, which he does not yet have at the Catalan club.
In Barcelona, aware of the interest of Paris Saint-Germain and other clubs, the Catalan team did not waste any time and began working on the renewal of Firmin’s contract. The goal is clear: to protect the promising young player and ensure his continuity at the club.

This does not only mean increasing the salary in line with his performances, but also increasing his termination clause, which currently stands at 400 million euros, but could be increased to one billion euros, like Pedri, Balde, Ronald Araujo, Lamine Yamal and Gavi.
Despite the tempting offers coming from Paris, Barcelona are confident that Fermín’s loyalty to the club and the sporting project it is building under Hansi Flick will outweigh the money and Deco, the club’s director of football, has already met with the player’s agent to speed up negotiations and ensure that Fermín continues to wear the Barcelona shirt for many more years.
