Florentino Perez, president of Real Madrid, sent a message of encouragement to French striker Kylian Mbappe after the match against Valladolid in the second round of the Spanish League.
Mbappe had failed to score in the first two matches in La Liga, especially against Valladolid in his first appearance at the Santiago Bernabeu, which ended with a 3-0 victory for Los Blancos.
According to the Spanish network “Defensa Central”, Perez was keen to be in the locker room after the match against Valladolid to congratulate the team on their first win in La Liga this summer after a draw in the first match against Real Mallorca.
The network reported that Perez had a personal conversation with several players, most notably Mbappe, who encouraged him by saying: “You were very close to scoring several times today.. You will definitely score in the next match.”
Mbappe had joined Real Madrid for free this summer after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expired.
Mbappe scored his first goal for Real Madrid, during the 2-0 win over Atalanta in the European Super Cup.
