The European transfer window has just ended and Barcelona have only managed to sign one player, Spanish midfielder Dani Olmo.
Barcelona started off strong this season in the league but soon suffered a surprise blow with the injury of team star Marc Bernal, a player who will leave a big void in Barca’s midfield this season.

According to information from the Spanish newspaper El Nacional, Barcelona can still strengthen its ranks with an unexpected deal despite the transfer market closing. French midfielder Adrien Rabiot, 29, has offered himself to the Catalan club after Marc Bernal’s injury, realizing the need for players in this position.
The newspaper added: Given that he remains without a club after leaving Juventus, Rabiot may arrive even when the market closes, which Barcelona does not rule out and is studying carefully.

Marc Bernal’s injury has left a big gap in Barcelona’s midfield, especially in the pivot position, which was already a concern before this setback and the club had been exploring alternatives during the transfer market, but without conclusive results. In this context, the option of Rabiot, who is on the market on a free transfer after his contract with Juventus expires, could become an emergency solution that does not require a transfer fee.

Although Rabiot is not currently a top priority, his name is on the agenda of Barcelona’s sporting authorities. He is a player with proven experience and quality, capable of occupying different positions in midfield.
Rabiot is still a free agent, which keeps the door open for a transfer until after the market closes on Friday, August 30.

In the meantime, Barcelona will face a complicated schedule in the coming weeks, with crucial matches in La Liga and the start of the Champions League group stage. Reinforcing the likes of the Frenchman could be key to ensuring the team does not lose momentum at this crucial stage of the season.
