One of Barcelona’s stars is close to undergoing surgery during the current season, in order to return to the stadiums due to his incomplete recovery as expected.
It is noteworthy that Barcelona started the season in a wonderful way, through which they were able to win 4 consecutive matches and top the league table early and with more than amazing performance.
According to the Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo”, Dutch international Frenkie de Jong has been absent from Barcelona’s ranks for 4 months due to injury, but he still feels pain in his ankle.
De Jong was injured in the second round of the La Liga Clasico last season, and the player refused to undergo surgery and preferred to resort to treatment.
It was reported that De Jong does not want to play unless he is fully recovered, but the club needs him urgently, and they asked him to try to play with the team even if he feels pain, as many professional players do.
The newspaper continued, that De Jong rejects Barcelona’s proposal; because he wants to recover completely, and does not want to return except in his best condition.
She stated that the Catalan club’s management gave De Jong a 15-day grace period to see how his condition develops and whether he can return to play. If he refuses, urgent surgery will be performed on his ankle that could keep him out for the rest of the season.
