Officials of the Spanish club Barcelona, headed by Joan Laporta, are close to signing the French national team star during the current summer transfer period of 2024, to strengthen the ranks of the Catalan team.
Barcelona seeks to sign players whose contracts with their clubs have expired due to the financial crisis that the Catalan team is going through and the club’s inability to pay the costs of large deals.
The Spanish newspaper “Sport” revealed that the Barcelona club management wants to sign Adrien Rabiot, the Italian Juventus player, during the current summer transfer period of 2024.
The newspaper added that the obstacle that stood in the way of Adrien Rabiot’s joining was the annual salary requested by the player’s agent and his mother at the same time, which is 10 million euros, which is the salary that Barcelona refused to pay.
The newspaper added that Barcelona is trying with the player to reduce his demands and conclude the contract with him in the coming days in a deal that will strengthen the strength of the Catalan team.
The newspaper added that Adrien Rabiot’s contract with Juventus has expired and he has not renewed his contract with the Old Lady, which has led him to enter into negotiations with several clubs, including Barcelona, Al-Nassr, and Manchester United.
