Pep Guardiola has made it clear that this season will be his last with Manchester City, as he will not extend his contract, which expires next June.
This decision has prompted Ferran Soriano and Txiki Begiristain, the club’s officials, to start looking for a reliable successor to continue dominating the Premier League and competing strongly to win the Champions League.
According to information from the Spanish newspaper El Nacional, Guardiola’s departure is expected to prompt some stars to consider leaving the club. Among these stars are Kevin De Bruyne, Erling Haaland, Bernardo Silva, and Ederson Moraes, who are considering trying their luck away from the Etihad Stadium.
The newspaper added that Rodrigo Hernandez, who is currently considered the best midfielder in the world, is the star of today’s story, as it is believed that Rodri deserves to be among the candidates for the Golden Ball award, as he was last year.
Despite signing a contract until 2027, there is great interest from major teams such as Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, and now Real Madrid.
At Real Madrid, Florentino Perez regrets not signing a replacement for Toni Kroos, who decided to retire despite being at the peak of his career. Perez has admitted that he made a big mistake in this regard, especially in light of the injury of Eduardo Camavinga, the limited contribution of Aurelien Tchouameni, and the advanced age of Luka Modric now at the Santiago Bernabéu.
They have already started to put a plan in place to attract Rodri, who they consider the ideal star to sign in 2025.
The newspaper continued Guardiola, who advised Rodri to stay at Manchester City where he became a legend, after scoring the only goal in the final that helped the team win the first Champions League in its history, stresses the importance of continuing at the club.
If Rodri decides to leave the Premier League, Guardiola has advised him to move to Barcelona, where he believes the team fits him better thanks to his qualities.
