In a serious effort to confront the economic crises it has witnessed in recent years, the Spanish club Barcelona is seeking to find effective solutions that will enable it to strengthen its ranks with new deals in the coming seasons.
These efforts come in light of the financial obstacles that prevented the team from being efficiently strengthened during the last summer transfer period, as the club’s reinforcements were limited to signing Spanish striker Dani Olmo.
According to information received from the Spanish newspaper El Nacional, Joshua Kimmich attracted the attention of major European clubs in the last transfer market after he clearly announced his desire to leave Bayern Munich and start a new stage in his sports career.
Despite the great interest from clubs such as Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal and Liverpool, the Bayern Munich management, which suffered from the loss of prominent players such as Matthijs de Ligt and Nousar Mazraoui, imposed Kimmich’s stay. However, Kimmich remains determined to move to a new team.
Kimmich is expected to start his new adventure in his career when he turns 30, making him an interesting target due to his extensive experience and versatility on the field.
Despite big-money offers from Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona appear to be Kimmich’s preferred destination.
Hansi Flick has asked the Barcelona board, including Joan Laporta and Deco, to make a major effort to secure the player and although the current budget shortfall has hampered Barcelona’s moves, Kimmich is expected to be available for free within 12 months.
Kimmich appears determined to move to Barcelona, driven by his strong relationship with Flick and his desire to follow in the footsteps of Robert Lewandowski and Bojan Krkic recently confirmed that Kimmich would prefer to join Barcelona, making such a deal highly likely.
