Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s interest in Barcelona stars is nothing new, but rather a recurring pattern over the years. Paris Saint-Germain has sought to sign most of the Catalan team’s stars in the past, and has succeeded in signing prominent names such as Neymar Jr., Xavi Simons, Leo Messi, and most recently Ousmane Dembele.
But Paris Saint-Germain’s ambitions are not limited to these players only, as Paris Saint-Germain President Nasser Al-Khelaifi seeks to sign an indispensable star in Barcelona.
According to information received from the Spanish newspaper El Nacional: Now, Paris Saint-Germain is directing its attention towards a new player from the untouchable players in Hansi Flick’s squad.
The club is particularly focusing on Jules Kounde, who is receiving special attention from Luis Enrique, who sees him as a valuable addition to improve the team’s defensive aspects.
Kounde has extensive experience and diverse skills, as he can play as a right-back or a central defender, which Paris Saint-Germain is looking to strengthen in its ranks.
Kounde is a potential replacement for full-back Achraf Hakimi, whose contract runs until 2026, opening the door to a possible change next summer.
PSG also face the possibility of Marquinhos and Milan Skriniar leaving, who have received offers from Saudi clubs, as well as Lucas Beraldo’s lack of conviction and Lucas Hernandez’s ongoing injury.
In this context, Kounde’s name has become one of the most prominent names on Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s agenda and negotiations with Kounde’s representatives began four months ago, although the player himself has not made any statements about his future at Barcelona, as he is focused on giving an excellent performance and continuing to improve his level.
Joan Laporta and Deco are concerned, as Luis Enrique poses a real threat to Barcelona’s retention of Kounde and his move to Paris would be a shock that exceeds Neymar’s.
