Erling Haaland is one of the most prominent names considered to strengthen Barcelona’s ranks in the coming period, as the Norwegian star attracts the interest of major European clubs, and Manchester City is fully aware of his high demand.

With three years remaining on his contract, Haaland has become a topic of discussion between the club’s president, Joan Laporta, and his management team to plan for a future signing.
According to information from the Spanish newspaper El Nacional, Barcelona is facing significant financial challenges that hinder its movement in the transfer market.

An example of this is that the club had to adapt to register its most prominent summer signing, Dani Olmo. Despite this, Barcelona is seriously planning to secure the services of Erling Haaland.
Initially, Vitor Roque was the main option to replace Robert Lewandowski, who is approaching the end of his professional career. However, the Brazilian has not had enough opportunities to adapt and is currently on loan at Real Betis, raising questions about his future.

During the previous transfer window, Barcelona signed Pau Victor, who was previously loaned to the reserve team.
Despite the management’s hopes that he would become a pivotal player, he is not considered ready to replace Lewandowski.

The newspaper added that Erling Haaland is the most attractive option to strengthen Barcelona’s attacking line, but his signing requires significant sacrifices due to the difficult financial situation.
Barcelona cannot pay Haaland’s release clause of 175 million euros, according to reports from the Spanish network Relevo.

The newspaper indicated that Laporta is willing to allow Ronald Araujo to leave for City, in addition to offering 50 million euros, a deal that Manchester City may accept.
Ronald Araujo’s contract with Barcelona expires in 2026, and it seems he does not want to renew. Although there are no guarantees, Manchester City may be open to Haaland’s departure if they can secure Araujo along with a substantial sum of money.
