Former Real Madrid coach Fabio Capello sent a fiery warning to French player Kylian Mbappé following his lackluster performances since joining the club this summer.
The 25-year-old player joined the royal club in the summer of 2024, arriving from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.
Capello, in statements reported by the Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo,” said about Mbappé: “When a big star goes to Real Madrid, he must understand that he needs to work like any other player. At Real Madrid, there is not just one star, but many.”
Capello added that Mbappé should have considered carefully before moving to Real Madrid, especially with the presence of the best player in the world, Vinícius Júnior, which will not allow Mbappé to feel as comfortable as he did in Paris.
The Italian coach indicated that Mbappé will remain in Vinícius’s shadow throughout his time with Real Madrid and will struggle to outperform him because the Brazilian possesses skills and talents that are quite different from those of Kylian Mbappé.
The Spanish newspaper “Marca” revealed that Mbappé is upset with Capello’s remarks and believes he can adapt to Real Madrid and become the best player in the world in the near future.
For his part, Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti contacted his compatriot Capello, advising him to tone down his criticism of the French star, especially since Mbappé has put up good numbers with Real Madrid this season despite not fully adapting to the team.
The French star has participated in 11 matches with Los Blancos in all competitions since the start of the current season, scoring 7 goals and providing 1 assist.
The Merengues are preparing to face their hosts, Celta Vigo, next Saturday evening, as part of the tenth round of the Spanish League, following the end of the international break.
