Newcastle United remain keen on Ferran Torres, having made a series of summer offers that were rejected by Barcelona.
Joan Laporta and Deco were not satisfied with the amount offered by the English club, which totaled €15 million fixed and €5 million variable for the Spanish winger. This ultimately led to him staying under Hansi Flick.
According to information from El Nacional, despite Barcelona’s desire to part ways with Ferran Torres, they were not willing to let go of a player for whom they had paid a substantial sum at the time.
They pressured Newcastle’s owners to significantly improve their offer, which did not happen, resulting in negotiations ending without an agreement. However, they may have another opportunity in January, given his continued poor form at Barcelona.
The doors remain open for his departure, with Eddie Howe still seeing him as an interesting reinforcement and Hansi Flick not opposed to the player’s exit at all.
Newcastle have already prepared a new offer for Ferran, which will be worth €20 million, and in addition, they will include a player who could be of interest to Barcelona, such as Kieran Trippier, who has expressed his desire to join a club that guarantees him participation in the Champions League.
For Flick, Trippier could be a very useful addition for Barcelona in the second half of the season, as the team approaches critical moments.
At right-back, Barcelona currently have only Jules Koundé, as Flick does not trust the young player Héctor Fort, who could go out on loan. The addition of the England international would greatly benefit the Catalan team.
Another factor that makes Trippier interesting for Barcelona is his familiarity with La Liga, having played for Atlético Madrid a few years ago.
