Barcelona officials, headed by Joan Laporta, are planning to sign the former team star during the upcoming winter transfer period in 2025 to strengthen the Catalan team.

The Catalan club will face Sevilla next Sunday in the tenth round of the Spanish League, where the team currently leads with 24 points, three points ahead of its traditional rival, Real Madrid, which is in second place.
According to information from the Spanish newspaper “Sport,” the Barcelona management aims to sign Spanish defender Oscar Mingueza, who plays for Celta Vigo, during the upcoming winter transfer period in 2025.

The newspaper added that the Catalan team is considering entering negotiations to bring back its 25-year-old defender, and it is expected to cost the club only 10 million euros.
The report continued that German coach Hans Flick welcomes the player’s return following Ronald Araujo’s injury and the lack of experience among the backup players in the Barcelona squad.

The newspaper indicated that the player has attracted the attention of the Catalan officials due to his significant development with the Celta Vigo team, where he has become one of the best players in his position in La Liga.
