Barcelona president Joan Laporta has identified the ideal replacement for Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, the player that Barcelona fans dream of.
Barcelona is seeking to sign a new striker, especially considering Lewandowski’s advancing age, as he approaches retirement.
The German coach categorically refuses to give up the services of the Polish striker except in one case: to sign a striker who will outperform Lewandowski at Barcelona.
According to a report published by the Football Spain website, quoting the Catalan newspaper Sport, Laporta has identified Erling Haaland as an ideal replacement for Lewandowski during the coming period.
The report indicated that Laporta considers signing Haaland to be the club’s priority in strengthening the attack.
Barcelona will need to address several matters related to the value of the deal and the salary allocated to the young star if they proceed with efforts to secure his signature.
Laporta views signing Haaland as a strategic deal and is looking forward to finalizing it in 2025 or 2026, especially since this period will see the reopening of the Camp Nou stadium after its renovation.
Laporta believes that Barcelona’s good relationship with Haaland’s agent, Mrs. Rafaela Pimenta, will play a positive role in the efforts to obtain his signature.
