Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho, of Turkish Fenerbahçe, extends a hand to save Spanish Barcelona star Ansu Fati from the bench of German coach Hansi Flick this season.
The Spanish newspaper AS reported that Mourinho aims to boost his team’s attack by attracting Fati in the upcoming winter transfer window in January 2025.
Fati, a talented Spanish player, was linked with leaving Barcelona last summer, but a foot injury sidelined him for two months, resulting in his stay at the Catalan club.
He has struggled to get minutes under Flick, having played only 51 minutes across three matches this season.
The newspaper added that Fati is dissatisfied with his situation at Barcelona and is eager to increase his playing time. If that doesn’t happen, he may leave in January to regain his form elsewhere.
In addition to Fenerbahçe, the player is also on the radar of Spanish club Sevilla.
However, Fati’s situation may change after the international break, especially following Ferran Torres’ injury and Flick’s need to rest Lamine Yamal and Raphinha.
Additionally, the return of Dani Olmo and Fermin Lopez from injury could increase competition for Fati’s preferred positions.
