Hansi Flick has a clear plan to strengthen Barcelona’s ranks next season, as he has indicated two players that could be included at no cost.
Barcelona is currently leading the La Liga table this season after winning eight matches and losing one, with the team accumulating 24 points, three ahead of Real Madrid.
According to information from the Spanish newspaper El Nacional, the German coach, who collaborates well with the club’s management, has put two prominent names on the table: Leroy Sané and Jonathan Tah, both of whom will be free agents next summer.
This proposal has received the approval of Deco, the club’s sporting director, who has given the green light to expedite the procedures and advance negotiations with the duo.
The newspaper added that Leroy Sané’s case is particularly interesting, as the German winger, who currently plays for Bayern Munich, has not been able to provide the consistent performance expected of him, which opens the door to a possible exit.
With his contract nearing its end and the lack of opportunities under Vincent Kompany, a reunion with Flick at Barcelona seems like a viable option.
Sané, who was a star under the German coach in the national team, could become a key pillar in Barcelona’s attack, bringing pace, balance, and goals.
Jonathan Tah is also a player Flick knows well, having played with him for the German national team. The Bayer Leverkusen center-back has announced that he will not renew his contract with the club, making him an attractive option for several European teams.
However, Barcelona appears well-placed to secure his services. With his excellent physique and Bundesliga experience, Tah would bolster a defense that has shown weaknesses at various stages of the season.
The fact that both players could join the club without a transfer fee is a major advantage for Barcelona, who are still dealing with financial constraints.
Deco has given his blessing to the deals, aware that both Sané and Tah are in a position to be involved in the transfer market.
Both Sané and Tah have experience at the highest level and are capable of adapting quickly to the German coach’s style of play. Additionally, Flick’s previous relationship with both players is an important factor that could facilitate their move to Camp Nou.
If Barcelona can secure these two signings, next season’s squad will see a significant leap in quality, especially in the positions that Flick considers a priority.
