Injured Real Madrid Star Misses Five Training Sessions and Is Spotted Partying in Paris.. as the Club Reveal Mourinho’s Stance

Five full training sessions have come and gone at Valdebebas without Real Madrid’s biggest star showing up, while his injured teammates kept turning up day after day for their recovery work. Then one image of the star far away from Madrid changed everything and sparked fury among the club’s fans.

The star left his national team camp injured and everyone expected him to head straight back to the club to begin treatment. Instead, cameras spotted him somewhere else entirely, on a lively night out in a European capital, and a storm of criticism followed that has yet to die down.

The player in question is Kylian Mbappe, who picked up a left knee injury in France’s Nations League win over Turkey and left the French camp. On Wednesday night he was seen with his partner, Spanish actress Ester Exposito, at a well-known Paris nightclub.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid held their fifth training session of the week with no news of Mbappe appearing at Valdebebas. Fellow injured players Konate, Rodrygo, Mendy, Fede Valverde and Raul Asencio, who underwent surgery on Thursday, were also absent.

The Spanish outlet had earlier reported that Mbappe had not been seen at the training ground for two full days, even though his teammates, including the other injured players, trained as normal.

Real Madrid moved quickly to explain their position through media close to the club. AS reported that Mbappe’s trip to Paris with his partner and friends had the approval of Jose Mourinho and his coaching staff, as well as the club doctors, who believe the injury currently only needs active rest and that there would be no advantage in him being at Valdebebas. The words “agreed” and “coordinated” are repeated when describing how his recovery is being managed.

The injury turned out to be less serious than feared, diagnosed as a hyperextension of the posterior capsule of the left knee, with an expected absence of one to two weeks. Real Madrid’s aim is not to rush him so he can be in perfect shape for the Clasico against Barcelona on 25 October.

But the club’s explanation has not convinced everyone. Spanish broadcaster Juanma Castano criticised Mbappe on COPE’s El Partidazo, saying: “If the player is injured with the national team and with Real Madrid, and he has to go to France to have his knee checked, I think what he should do is go and come back.”

Castano added that this kind of thing angers the fans more than the club, insisting that “the message it sends is that the knee was almost the least important part of the trip.”

The episode piles more pressure on the French star, who the Spanish press describe as going from one controversy to the next at Real Madrid, as everyone waits to see what the coming days bring before his return to action.
