Szcz\u0119sny made a strong impression during the recent El Cl\u00e1sico, which ended in a 4\u20133 win over Real Madrid. He later confirmed receiving a two-year contract extension offer from Barcelona. However, he has yet to make a decision, stating that he plans to discuss the matter with his wife before deciding.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the club’s current third-choice goalkeeper, I\u00f1aki Pe\u00f1a, is aware that his path to becoming the second-choice stopper could be blocked if Szcz\u0119sny stays. As a result, Pe\u00f1a is reportedly considering options away from the club in pursuit of more playing time.<\/p>\n
Mundo Deportivo also reports that Barcelona has recently entered the race to sign 32-year-old Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Mart\u00ednez, the Aston Villa star. Mart\u00ednez has attracted interest from several European clubs as well as Saudi Arabian sides, who are prepared to make lucrative offers.<\/p>\n
Speculation about his future intensified after an emotional display in Aston Villa\u2019s 2\u20130 win over Tottenham at Villa Park, where the Argentine goalkeeper broke down in tears, an act many interpreted as a possible farewell.<\/p>\n
Mart\u00ednez is also reportedly on Manchester United’s radar as a potential replacement for Andr\u00e9 Onana.<\/p>\n
